Multiple Sclerosis is a debilitating neurological disease that is caused by a loss of myelin sheaths around axons of the brain and spinal cord.

The myelin damage is associated with an auto-immune dysfunction, which appears to have environmental and genetic factors involved. There is no cure available for the physical and cognitive defects caused by chronic Multiple Sclerosis.

Numerous investigators are researching the regenerative properties of cell therapy to minimize the impact of Multiple Sclerosis on the Nervous system.  MS is more commonly observed in women than men.  If a member of your family, such as a parent or sibling has had MS, you may have a greater risk of developing it as well.
